Mr Raymond Crowe

Mr Crowe first qualified as a General Surgeon, but then specialised in sports medicine, being the Melbourne Football Club doctor and the Australian Ski Team doctor in the 1980s. He then completed his fellowship in Orthopaedic Surgery in Perth and has been in specialist orthopaedic practice in Melbourne since 1992.

Mr Crowe was a pioneering surgeon in the MACI procedure (Matrix Autologous Chondrocyte Implantation) to articular cartilage defects in joints, mainly the knee and shoulder. More recently, he has a significant interest in orthobiological treatment of early degenerative joints and anterior hip replacement surgery.
