About
Richard Gerraty is a general neurologist and stroke neurologist. He was the founding director of the Acute Stroke Unit at St Vincent’s Hospital and has also had appointments in clinical stroke and stroke research at Royal Melbourne Hospital and the Alfred Hospital. He has been involved in many major international acute stroke trials, as well as a number of local investigator driven trials in stroke and at Epworth he continues with his own research in acute vertigo, TIA and cerebral amyloid angiopathy.
He is a member of the board of the Brain Foundation (Vic) and a member of the Safer Care Victorian Stroke Clinical Network Committee on Reperfusion Monitoring. He is a member of the HREC at Alfred Health and a member of the Alfred Health Research Review Committee. He is a member of the ANZAN council and served as the Chair of the Education and Training Committee and is currently Editor in Chief of BMJ Neurology Open.
