A Charity Challenge is usually a trek or cycle, lasting between three and 10 days. Past challenges have included trekking the Great Wall of China, hiking through the wilderness alongside the Great Ocean Road, and cycling through remote villages, unspoiled jungles and stunning beaches in Cambodia and Vietnam.

Colourful cultural experiences are a highlight of each journey, as well as opportunities for sightseeing, tasting local cuisine, comfortable accommodation, and the opportunity to forge new friendships.

Epworth provides meals and accommodation, a professional guide, a back-up vehicle, medical support, and transport for your bags during the day.

Often groups of people on a challenge will plan informal training activities in the lead-up to the adventure. These are a lot of fun, and provide an opportunity for you to meet with some of your fellow-travellers and get to know them ahead of time.

How to join a Charity Challenge

Being part of our next Charity Challenge is easy. If you already know which challenge you wish to be part of, simply download the Challenge brochure and complete the form on the back page, and you’re on your way!

If you’re not sure which challenge is for you, see our list of current Charity Challenges.

You will need to pay a non-refundable deposit of $500 when you register, with the balance (a minimum fundraising target) due six weeks prior to your departure.

You may choose to pay the total cost of the adventure yourself, in which case a portion of the total cost will be tax deductible.

However if you decide to fundraise the money for your journey by seeking sponsorship from friends and family, or by hosting events and activities, any donations that others make will be fully tax-deductible.

Help raising funds

If you choose to fundraise to cover the cost of your Charity Challenge, we would be happy to provide you with our support.
