About
Dr Amanda Gilligan, consultant neurologist, has specialist interests in stroke, Parkinson's disease and epilepsy. She has a passion for improving services in stroke medicine. With a NH&MRC postgraduate scholarship, she completed a PhD in stroke medicine in 2005. She has been pivotal in the development of the new Rapid Access inpatient TIA service at Epworth Eastern. She has been appointed the director of the Neurosciences Unit at Epworth Eastern, having worked as a consultant neurologist at Eastern Health and Austin Health, since 2000, and as Deputy Director, Department of Neurosciences at Eastern Health from 2007.
