About

James Lindstrom MBBS (Hons) BMedSc (Hons) FRACP FCICM AICGG is a respiratory, sleep and intensive care physician.

He is an established bronchoscopist and is accredited in endobronchial ultrasound for the diagnosis of conditions such as lung cancer, sarcoidosis and lymphoma. A practitioner with a breadth of experience, he also provides hospital-based care to patients with a range of acute medical conditions.

In the outpatient setting, James cares for patients with sleep disorders, including where subtle sleep disorders may be contributing to conditions such as hypertension, heart failure & headaches.

After finishing with the Sophie Davis Memorial Prize Monash University, James went on to train at the Alfred and Austin healthcare networks, including spending significant time with the Victorian Respiratory Support Service managing patients with complex sleep and respiratory failure.

He holds dual Fellowships with the Royal Australasian College of Physicians and the College of Intensive Care Medicine of Australia and New Zealand. He also holds a Certificate in Clinical Governance for Patient Safety and Quality Care.

He has been appointed as a public specialist at The Alfred Lung Transplant Unit, Barwon Health and Mercy Health. He has published and presented widely including in fields of asthma, sleep studies and various respiratory supports. James has teaching background and is an Affiliate Senior Lecturer with Deakin University.

Outside medicine you can find him hiking, diving, running, eating and generally exploring this wonderful world we live in!
