A/Prof Jie Shen (Jason) Fok

Associate Professor Fok is a highly trained senior consultant physician specialising in allergy and immunology. He has, over the years, developed vast work and research experience in the specialty, with special interests in angioedema, urticaria, complex anaphylaxis, drug allergy, allergic rhinitis, food allergy, insect venom allergy and mastocytosis.

He is not foreign to public speaking and academic research. He has been invited to speak nationally and internationally at various scientific meetings, notably the Global Urticaria Forum, World Allergy Congress, World Congress of Dermatology, and Asia Pacific Association of Allergy, Asthma and Clinical Immunology International Conference.

He is well-published in international peer-reviewed allergy/immunology journals with high impact factor. He is a regular participant and scientific committee in international focus meetings involving urticaria and angioedema.

He serves the editorial board for the Journal of the Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh.

He is passionate about medical education. He has been a clinical examiner for the Royal Australasian College of Physicians and is regularly involved in medical student and physician trainee teaching.

Associate Professor Fok also has a special interest in interventional immunology, especially allergen immunotherapy and peri-operative (drug allergy) testing.

He provides the following services:

1. allergy skin test (for food and aeroallergens)
2. drug skin test (for antibiotic allergy and peri-operative anaphylaxis)
3. oral challenges (for medications and food)
4. drug desensitisation
5. immunotherapy (for aeroallergens and insect venom such as bee stings)
6. immunoglobulin replacement for eligible patients with immunodeficiency
