About
Dr Merv Ferdinands trained in Medicine and Surgery at the University of Melbourne. He graduated with honours and commenced residency at the Royal Melbourne Hospital. He trained in ophthalmology at the prestigious Royal Victorian Eye and Ear Hospital.
After ophthalmic training, Dr Ferdinands undertook further sub-specialisation in cataract and refractive surgery.
He has authored several publications in peer-reviewed journals and presented at multiple international conferences.
Dr Ferdinands is a Director of the Geelong Eye Centre, has a public hospital appointment at University Hospital, Geelong and is a Clinical Lecturer at the School of Medicine, Deakin University. He is a fellow of the Royal Australian & New Zealand College of Ophthalmologists.
Dr Ferdinands is a keen follower of AFL and Rugby Union. He lives on the Surfcoast with his wife and three children.
