About

Mr Keat Ooi is an Australian-trained orthopaedic surgeon specialising in spine and joint replacement surgery. Keat believes in providing the highest quality of care for his patients, recognising that every patient has their own individual needs that may require personalised care.

Keat graduated from his medical training at University of Melbourne in 2005. He then completed his orthopaedic surgical training in the Australian Orthopaedic Association (AOA) Victoria and Tasmania training program and was awarded his fellowship in 2017 by Royal Australasian College of Surgeons.

Keat has a genuine interest in treatment of spine conditions which culminated in him completing the AOA Clinical and Research Fellowship in Spinal Surgery at Austin Health and Combined Orthopaedic and Neurosurgical Spinal Fellowship at Macquarie University Hospital, New South Wales.  His treatment philosophy for adult spinal deformity and degenerative disorders encompasses multiple regions including the spine, hips and knees.  He has a keen interest in tailoring solutions based on every patient’s condition and needs.

Keat is appointed as a consultant orthopaedic and spine surgeon at Austin Health and also practices at Epworth Private Hospital. He is involved in teaching orthopaedic trainees and medical students through the University of Melbourne.

He encourages referring doctors to contact him directly on his mobile or via email, and is very happy to be approached to answer any clinical queries.
