Phillip is a Thoracic surgeon and the Head of Thoracic Surgery at the Royal Melbourne Hospital and the Victorian Comprehensive Cancer Centre in Melbourne, Australia. He is active in all areas of adult Thoracic Surgery ,with a main focus in Surgical Oncology of the Chest and Trauma Surgery. He has a major research and educational focus in Surgical Oncology, Rib Osteosynthesis and Data Systems.
Phillip is an active musician and viola player, and runs the highly acclaimed medical orchestra in Melbourne called Corpus Medicorum. They perform regularly and have toured internationally on behalf of the City of Melbourne. The orchestra raises funds through the Royal Melbourne Hospital Foundation for Lung Cancer Research.
