Mr Sher is an Australian trained neurosurgeon and spinal surgeon in Melbourne, Victoria. He has received extensive training in all facets of neurosurgery and spinal surgery from the Royal North Shore Hospital Sydney, Royal Hobart Hospital, Monash Hospital, Monash Children's Hospital and Austin Hospital. He has also completed a subspecialist combined neurosurgical and orthopaedic spinal surgery fellowship. Mr Sher is adept at traditional surgical techniques and modern minimally invasive neurosurgical and spinal surgical techniques, as well as surgical adjuncts such as cranial and spinal navigation, neuromonitoring and robotics. Mr Sher's research interests include neurooncology, hydrocephalus, cerebrovascular and degenerative disc disease. He regularly presents at national and international conferences. His research was awarded the prestigious Best Basic Science Paper Award at North American Spine Society annual meeting in Florida, USA. The focus of Mr Sher's practice is to preserve motion, promote mobility and optimise functional outcomes for his patients whilst minimising surgical and nonsurgical complications. Mr Sher treats all general neurosurgical conditions.
