Mr Sina Babazadeh is an Orthopaedic Surgeon who specialises in wrist, knee and hip surgery. Sina completed his surgical training in Victoria and Tasmania and subsequently completed fellowship in Barcelona, Spain.
His interest in wrist surgery was solidified after a fellowship at the Kaplan Institute, publishing and investigating new techniques and writing a book chapter on the subject.
Sina also has a keen interest in knee surgery, specifically the arthritic knee. He spent 4 years completing a PhD in knee replacement surgery and published numerous articles about the subject. Current interests include refining knee replacement surgery, aiming for rapid, painless recovery and also keenly pursuing novel management options for early arthritis, without knee replacement surgery.
Sina is also keenly involved in hip replacement surgery using the evidence-based techniques to improve recovery, function and longevity. He has had research collaborations world-wide and spent time in Belgium, Switzerland and Italy fine-tuning his technique.
Sina has been trained to perform standard, navigated, patient-specific and robotic joint replacement surgery, depending on the patient's needs. His philosophy is to provide choice for the patient and tailor their management to ensure the best possible outcome.
