The Program

Joining our Enrolled Nurse Graduate Program, you will be welcomed into an environment that cares for its people. Through your 12-month program, commencing in March and July, you will develop a sense of belonging and begin your transition into becoming a confident and competent Enrolled Nurse.

Offering one or two rotations across most clinical units, you can tailor your program to meet your own clinical and situational needs. Your individually tailored program offers 4 days of work each week and rotations across areas:

  • surgical
  • medical
  • oncology
  • day surgery
  • rehabilitation 
  • endoscopy and more.

A multi-tiered approach to your support sees you have access to designated graduate support staff, educators, preceptors and clinical specialists who will be available to answer your questions and connect you with other people across Epworth.

This program aims to facilitate an increase in your knowledge and skills to perform well in an area of high complexity and to feel confident, competent and valued. To support you further, this program includes a structured theory component, including 3 development days to share learnings

Epworth locations and specialty rotation:

  • Epworth Camberwell

    Caring for patients with a variety of rehabilitation needs including orthopaedic, neurology, respiratory, cardiac, oncology and chronic medical conditions.

  • Epworth Eastern (Box Hill)

    A multitude of surgical, medical and speciality rotations including general surgical, gynaecology, neurology, cardiothoracic/cardiac, dialysis, ENT, maxillofacial, orthopaedics, endoscopy, DOSA, plastics, general medical and oncology.

  • Epworth Freemasons - Albert Street and Victoria Parade (East Melbourne)

    A multitude of surgical, medical and speciality rotations including general surgical, gynaecology, urology, ENT, maxillofacial, orthopaedics, paediatrics, plastics, general medical, oncology and haematology.

  • Epworth Geelong

    A multitude of surgical, medical and speciality rotations include medical oncology, orthopaedics and chronic pain, rehabilitation, general surgery including neurosurgery, neurology and cardiac, day surgery, emergency, and renal dialysis.

  • Epworth Hawthorn

    Caring for patients recovering from traumatic road or workplace accidents with multi-trauma orthopaedic injuries and amputee rehabilitation.

  • Epworth Richmond

    A multitude of surgical, medical and speciality rotations including orthopaedic, general/colorectal, cardiothoracic/cardiac, neurosurgery/neurology, emergency, paediatrics, general medical, oncology, sub-acute rehabilitation including acquired/traumatic brain injury, ENT, oral maxillofacial, plastics, urology, day surgery, dialysis, and vascular.

Before starting the graduate program, you will need:

  • To be on-track to successfully complete your nursing qualification (diploma)
  • To anticipate being granted AHPRA registration prior to program commencement date
  • Australian Citizenship or Permanent Residency; New Zealand Citizenship OR anticipate having a working visa with unrestricted rights to work in Australia on a part-time contract.
