The Grey Street Centre will provide:
- 12 new inpatient beds
- a new day oncology unit, adjacent to the existing oncology ward
- four new operating theatres and endoscopy suites
Improved access, layout and parking for patients and visitors
A new ground floor main entrance will be created along Albert St, which will include an undercover pick up and drop off zone for patients.
The new Grey St Centre will also connect to all levels of the existing Clarendon St campus.
A new car park will be built directly underneath the site, providing more than 300 spaces.
Facilities to support collaboration, education and research
A hospital can deliver better outcomes for its patients by investing in education and research into the best processes, treatment and diagnoses.
New education, research and training facilities including a multidisciplinary meeting room, integrated within clinical spaces, create an environment for medical, surgical and allied health teams to collaborate.
On-site consulting rooms
The Grey St Centre will house approximately 2500m2 of integrated space for specialist consulting doctors, the majority of which feature 360-degree views over Melbourne.
Expressions of interest are now being sought for premium consulting spaces within the new Grey St Centre.
