As a graduate nurse or midwife at Epworth, your journey through your early career will lead you to various development pathways, including clinical, leadership, education or research opportunities. Enhancing your skills, learning about new specialties and enriching your clinical background are facilitated through multiple program offerings.

Advanced Practice Program

Our Advanced Practice Program consists of three study days, offering a professional development opportunity to Registered and Enrolled nurses working in acute and subacute areas to grow, develop and succeed in their chosen speciality.

This program is delivered through case study exploration. It will consolidate and extend your clinical assessment, decision making and nursing management of complex patient presentations.

Entry requirements

  • Currently working in a clinical unit at Epworth.
  • Current a registered or enrolled nurse with AHPRA.
  • Completed an early year’s program (not currently undertaking a graduate program).
  • Have received pre-approval from your Nurse Unit Manager.

Duration

  • Three face-to-face study days, delivered over approximately two months
  • 09.00-15.00
  • Two intakes per year in May and October.

Structure

Delivered in a blended learning method, with a combination of self-directed and classroom-based learning.

Venue

  • Applications are invited from all Epworth sites.
  • All study days will be conducted at Epworth Richmond.

Program positions will be advertised through Expressions of Interest (EOI) throughout the year.
