About

Dr Sim Ong is an experienced consultant Gastroenterologist and Hepatologist, and holds a senior medical position at Eastern Health. She is a caring, thorough doctor and communicates well with her patients, and provides high quality care for her patients. She was awarded the prestigious NHMRC scholarship and completed her PhD through the University of Melbourne, studying the effects of treatment for haemochromatosis patients with moderately elevated iron levels. She has a keen interest in hepatitis and general gastroenterology conditions including iron deficiency anaemia, functional gut, reflux and actively participates in national bowel screening programme. She performs both gastroscopy and colonoscopy and speaks fluent Mandarin and Cantonese.
