The Epworth Clinical School strives to create the best clinical learning experience for all its students in partnership with the many dedicated and skilled clinicians that work at Epworth. Our tutors and clinical supervisors are Senior Consultants with extensive experience in their specialised medical field, providing students the opportunity to learn from the experts. Students develop not only their knowledge, but the professional and clinical skills required to be successful as a doctor.

Medical Student Programs at Epworth

We are a Clinical School to University of Melbourne, Melbourne Medical School. Placement partner for Deakin University and Monash University.

University of Melbourne

Epworth Clinical school is one of seven clinical schools associated with the University of Melbourne Medical School. Students attend in the first year of the MD program on a part-time basis and then from their second year fulltime. The majority of placement and learning activities occur through the Epworth Clinical School. Students undertake placement at multiple sites including Richmond, Freemasons, Hawthorn and Camberwell Hospitals.

Deakin University

Students based at the Geelong Clinical School of the Deakin School of Medicine undertake placements at Epworth Geelong. Students generally rotate for short periods for specific placement opportunities including surgery, emergency medicine, anaesthesia, intensive care and pain medicine. Teaching and learning activities are provided by the Geelong Clinical School .

Monash University

Students from the Eastern Health Clinical School undertake placements at Epworth Eastern. Teaching and learning activities are provided by the Eastern Health Clinical School .

Clinical Medical Student Electives

A limited number of Clinical Elective placements in a variety of specialities are offered across our sites. Clinical electives at Epworth allow students to explore a chosen medical, surgical or critical care discipline in a setting differing from that of their primary training. Clinical electives are supervised by specialists in a range of disciplines.

All undergraduate medical student placements are coordinated by the Epworth Clinical School .

Please note preference for clinical placements is given to our partner Universities .
