About

A/Prof Aaron Buckland is a Spinal Surgeon with subspecialty expertise in adult and paediatric spinal deformity, complex revision surgery, artificial disc replacement and minimally invasive spine surgery. A/Prof Buckland completed his MBBS/BMedSci degree at University of Melbourne in 2005, and FRACS (Ortho) in 2014. Subsequently A/Prof Buckland completed his spinal surgery fellowship at New York University Hospital for Joint Disease in 2015. A/Prof Buckland worked as a fulltime faculty member at NYU Langone Health in New York City from 2015 - 2020. A/Prof Buckland was appointment and maintains the position of Director of Spine Research at NYU Langone Health. A/Prof Buckland has a keen interest in academics in addition to his clinical workload, authoring more than 100 peer reviewed publications and winning several awards at international specialty society meetings for his research, including the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, Scoliosis Research Society and International Society for Advancement of Spine Surgery. He is a member of the Harms Study Group and Vice President of Spine and Scoliosis Research Associates, both not for profit research organizations.
