About
Dr Chantel Thornton is a Specialist Breast Cancer Surgeon. She graduated from the University of Tasmania with first class honours as dux of her medical school, receiving 8 University prizes and was awarded a scholarship to undertake an honours degree for Bachelor of Medical Science at the University of Hong Kong. She completed advanced surgical training at the Alfred Hospital and fellowship training in breast cancer at the Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre. Her passion is delivering the highest standard of breast cancer surgery and multidisciplinary care for breast cancer patients to improve survival. She is chair of the Epworth Hospital breast oncology multi disciplinary meeting. She offers oncoplastic breast cancer surgery, immediate breast reconstruction, nipple and skin sparing mastectomy to enhance cosmetic outcomes.She is director of Specialist Breast Cancer Surgery, a purpose built practice for women with breast cancer offering both breast and reconstructive surgery. Chantel is involved in medical philanthropy and has served on many national boards. Chantel has a rapid access policy and will see suspected or proven breast cancer patients with in 24 business hours.
