Areas of Interest
Geraldine graduated from the University of Melbourne and undertook postgraduate training in oncology at the Royal Melbourne and Repatriation Hospitals. She subsequently completed fellowships in Oncology at St Elizabeth’s Medical Centre and the Dana Farber Cancer Institute in Boston, Massachusetts. She holds a laboratory-based doctoral thesis in breast cancer as well as a Master’s degree in Women’s Health and a Graduate Diploma in Health and Medical Law from the University of Melbourne.
She now works as a medical oncologist caring for women with breast and gynaecological cancers, with a particular focus on involving women in decision making about their treatment options. She advocates strongly for a multidisciplinary approach to cancer care and is committed to providing high quality and wholistic care. Geraldine holds a public appointment at Eastern Health and is involved in teaching and clinical research, as well as palliative care. She serves on the Boards of the Ovarian Cancer Research Foundation and the Victorian Voluntary Assisted Dying Review Board.
