Dr James Finkemeyer

Dr James Finkemeyer is a fully-qualified Specialist Plastic & Reconstructive Surgeon who undertook training in the major hospitals of Victoria. Following qualification in Australia, he undertook further training with international fellowships in 2020 & 2021. This included a Microsurgical & Head and Neck Fellowship at Oxford University Hospitals, UK followed by a Craniofacial Trauma & Rhinoplasty Fellowship at Vancouver General Hospital, Canada. He also travelled to undertake a number of clinical observorships in Sweden, Germany, South Korea, Taiwan, UK and Spain.

He has public appointments at St Vincent's Hospital as well as the Royal Melbourne Hospital and Royal Women's Hospital. He also travels to Bendigo on a regular basis for consultation and operating. He has authored a number of publications in international medical journals and presented at national and international conferences. He is currently the Supervisor of Training at St Vincent's Hospital. His practice encompasses many of the disciplines of Plastic Surgery while combining the aesthetic and reconstructive principles of his training. His focus is on surgery of the head, neck & face and has developed a particular interest in reconstructive surgery for patients suffering from facial palsy, and in rhinoplasty.
