About
Professor Shomik Sengupta is a urologist with a urooncology subspecialty interest. He trained under the Victorian section of the Urological Society of Australia and New Zealand (USANZ), and subsequently undertook a two year uro-oncology fellowship at the Mayo Clinic, USA. He is a Visiting consultant and Uro-Oncology lead at the Urology Department, Eastern Health, and Professor of Surgery at the Eastern Health Clinical School, Monash University. Shomik has a strong academic background, having completed two higher degrees by research and with more than 100 international publications to date. He is involved in numerous clinical trials, including through the Australian and New Zealand Urogenital and Prostate Cancer Trials Group, where he is a Board Director and Scientific Advisory group member. Shomik has also held leadership positions within the GU Oncology advisory group and the Board of Urology Training within USANZ and the Clinician Network at Cancer Council Victoria.
